Last sighting of the oystercatchers

Not everything works out as expected in life. It seems that the life of the three young oystercatchers took a bad turn. Originally being three, I recently could only spot one fledgling hopping around on our parking lot. But some days later they were all gone, parents and the last remaining kid. I suspect that the fledlings were easy prey to the seagulls circling there frequently. I hope that they didn’t get hold of the last survivor, but on the other hand that’s simply nature’s way. So while I’m dreaming of a happy small oystercatcher-family hopping around in the fields surrounding our parking lot, here’s the last picture of them:
